Finance Officer

Salary: £36,000 p/a (pro-rata)

Location: Rake (nr. Liss), Hampshire

Hours: 18.5 hours per week (On-site)

Contract: Part time

We are looking for a positive, reliable and highly organised person. You need to be a good team player as well as being able to self-manage and work to deadlines. The role requires the ability to be both structured and flexible. You will be working in a beautiful rural setting on a country estate, therefore your own transport is essential.

White Eagle Lodge is a spiritual organisation and charity, with thousands of members across the world. It is guided by universal spiritual truths known as the White Eagle Teachings; comforting, supportive and peaceful. Activities include retreats, meditation, spiritual healing, yoga, volunteering, services of worship and much more. You do not need to be a member or familiar with the teachings, but respect and empathy are required for the spiritual aspects of the work and the values and ethos of the organisation. 

JOB PURPOSE

  • To take responsibility for ensuring end-to-end finance processes are carried out in a timely manner
  • To maintain accurate and sufficient accounting and financial records, ensuring all legislative requirements are met
  • To ensure that the work of the White Eagle Lodge and its output is consistent with its charitable objectives and ethos

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    For this role, it is essential that you have a strong financial background, preferably in the charity sector. Knowledge of charity funds and the necessary returns for the Charity Commission is desirable. Proficiency in all aspects of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Being able to multitask with competing deadlines. Being disciplined and structured. It is desirable, but not essential, that you can manage payroll. Experience of a similar role in a small organisation is also desirable.
