Becoming Centres of Peace
A post from StarNotes by Jenny Dent
I am writing this while the Sun is in the zodiac sign of Pisces. This sign is a Water sign with the soul lesson of Peace. I think most people nowadays are longing for peace, and yet, in some ways there seems more conflict in the world today than for a long time.
I know it's not by chance that the dedication of the first White Eagle Lodge took place when not only the sun, but also the moon, were together in the first degrees of Pisces. This sign brings the vibration of peace, and also wisdom. There is much wisdom in White Eagle`s teaching, and many practical suggestions about how to bring more peace into our personal lives.
I love the way White Eagle uses images to emphasise what he is teaching. In the book The Quiet Mind, White Eagle suggests that,
'...it is no good appearing calm outwardly while remaining a seething volcano inwardly…Daily, seek for that still centre within your soul which is the abiding place of the Christ-spirit.'
White EagleI expect many of us have experienced at least an occasional feeling of 'the seething volcano', when we hear some of the latest news stories. The Master Jesus is closely linked with Pisces and the qualities of peace and wisdom. I have felt him a lot recently, and I have the image of his soft robe of peace stretching out across the whole world to comfort and uplift every troubled heart. I have been reading again one of my favourite passages in White Eagle's book, Jesus Teacher and Healer. This has comforted me, as I hope it will to you:
'Jesus is not only the great Master through whom Christ shines. He would have us tell you he is also your gentle brother....have no fear, just confide in your heart to him and he will come very close to you, closer than breathing...if you are faced with a problem, take your burden to the Great Healer, talk to him, listen, and you will be comforted.'
White EagleI do this often.
It does help still the storm of concern inside and bring the inner peace for which we all long. I believe that the more we can each achieve times of true peace ourselves, the better we can reflect this out into the world in our prayers.
